Tried to upload this for everybody however, tumblr has strict limits. This is 2 hours of chillstep mixed together by Mor (many different artists are included.) It’s amazing. I recommend you open another tab and run it in the background and possibly attempt to mirror. Worth it.

Law Firms Removing Their Name From #SOPA/#PIPA Supporters' List; SOPA 'Support' Crumbling
“So we were just discussing how a bunch of companies who were listed by the US Chamber of Commerce as SOPA/PIPA supporters are demanding to be taken off the list, noting that, while they had agreed to a generic statement about fighting the sale of counterfeit goods, they don’t support crazy broad legislation like SOPA/PIPA. It seems that others listed as “supporting” SOPA are scrambling to get off the list as well. The Judiciary Committee’s official list had included a bunch of big name law firms as being in support of the law as well — which is a little strange, since law firms usually don’t take official positions on things like this. They may express opinions on such matters on behalf of clients, but outright supporting legislation is a different ballgame altogether.
A group of lawyers (most of whom have a long history of working with the entertainment industry) did send a letter to the Judiciary Committee to say that they agreed with Floyd Abrams’ analysis of SOPA. That’s it. They didn’t say their firms supported SOPA — and, in fact, there’s an asterisk with the signatures noting that the names of their firms are solely for identification purposes. Yet the Judiciary Committee took those names anyway and put them on the supporters list. Expressing a legal opinion on a bill is extraordinarily different from supporting the bill. But the Judiciary Committee ignored that and listed them as supporters anyway.”~Read more: TechDirt (Thanks to Epic)
Drunken Gummy Bears
What you need to make them:
- Alcohol of your choice
- Bowl (with a lid is optional)
- Fridge
- Gummy Bears
How to make them:
Put your gummy bears (or other gummy candy) in a bowl of your choice. Pour the liquor you are using into the bowl and cover about a 3/4 inch over the top of the gummy bears. You can put a lid on them or leave them uncovered if you would like. These MUST be left in the fridge, if not they will fall apart and turn into a huge glob of goo. The minimum to soak these is about 5 days, but the longer the better for them! Make sure to stir them 1-2 times daily to get them evened out.
Fun facts:
- You can use ANY kind of alcohol to make these.
- Use flavored alcohol to make them even yummier!
- 7-10 equal a shot of the liquor you are using.
- Yes, they will get you drunk - they are soaked in alcohol! ;)
- They will stay good in the fridge for a very long time!
- Serve them with a toothpick for cleaner eating.
What they look like when they are done:
(left is unsoaked - right is soaked in vodka)HOLY WUT THE EFFFFFFFF GENIUS!

The nightmarish SOPA hearings
“Last night I had a horrifying dream that a group of well-intentioned middle-aged people who could not distinguish between a domain name and an IP address were trying to regulate the Internet. Then I woke up and the Judiciary Committee’s SOPA hearings were on.
It’s exactly as we feared. For every person who appears to have some grip on the issue, there were three or four yelling at him.
“I’m not a nerd,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D- Calif.). “I aspire to be a nerd.”
“I’m a nerd,” said Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).
If I had a dime for every time someone in the hearing used the phrase “I’m not a nerd” or “I’m no tech expert, but they tell me . . .,” I’d have a large number of dimes and still feel intensely worried about the future of the uncensored Internet. If this were surgery, the patient would have run out screaming a long time ago. But this is like a group of well-intentioned amateurs getting together to perform heart surgery on a patient incapable of moving. “We hear from the motion picture industry that heart surgery is what’s required,” they say cheerily. “We’re not going to cut the good valves, just the bad — neurons, or whatever you call those durn thingies.”~Read More: Washington Post (Thanks to Epic)

#Ows #OccupyWallStreet Banned From Democratic National Convention
“Charlotte, North Carolina, the host city for the Democratic National Convention next year to renominate President Obama, has announced that it will not tolerate planned Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. Rather, the city council enacted a series of restrictions on the allowed locations in which protesters can demonstrate and the outright ban on overnight stays.
New York Magazine reports: “The North Carolina city, sometimes called the “Wall Street of the South,” is not taking any chances, and is already working to pass an ordinance that would make occupying downtown spaces with tents a “public nuisance,” in addition to banning “noxious substances,” padlocks, and other camping equipment. The fact that it would knock out the city’s current overnight demonstrators is an added bonus.”
The constitutionality of the ruling is already being challenged by the National Lawyers Guild, which has been providing the Occupy movement with free legal services and counsel.”~Read more: ology (Thanks to Epic)
Freedom Now Requires 72-Hour Notice And A Non-Refundable Deposit
“Industrialist rentboy Gov. Scott Walker, having given away all of the Wisconsin’s remaining money to his corporatist sugar daddies, needs to fill the state coffers again and he figured the best place to get his hands on some green is from the people who hate his guts, which is pretty much everyone in the state who’ve lost everything except for their freedom to assemble and speak. And now even that is going to cost them:
Following demonstrations earlier this year which drew up to 100,000 people to the Wisconsin Capitol, Republican Gov. Scott Walker has proposed new policies that would require future protesters to pay in advance to stage an event, at a cost of $50 per hour, per Capitol Police officer.
Police may also require a liability insurance or a bond, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.
Demonstrators will also be on the hook for any damage and cleanup following protests. Walker’s administration had claimed that the pro-union protests earlier this year had costs as much as $7.5 million, but later admitted that the actual costs were far less.
Under the new policy, permits will be required for groups of four or more people who want to do any activity inside the Capitol. Groups of 100 or more gathering outside the Capitol must also apply for a permit 72 hours in advance. Police will have some leeway if unforeseen events lead to spontaneous gatherings.”~Read more: TBogg (Thanks to: Epic)
